David Hockney -- A Legend in Colour

 



Each of these lessons are based on cultural and trending topics such as the rise of the spanish language as a competative edge in North America to NFTS and the Metaverse. In this exercise we look at the value of thinking differently or  to ' Think Outside the Box' and how creativity is becoming an essential key in a everychanging economic landscape. 

In this lesson we look at material related to the great British artist David Hockney and his relationship with colour and his beautiful attitude to life. 

Class duration – One - 2 hour session \ Number of students – 1 – 4 

Objective - Develop an awareness of critical thinking while expanding on related vocabulary.  

The majority of corrections are given in real time during the online class with notes taken and written in the CHAT option in Microsoft teams, google MEET or skype. 





Where to begin on the history and life of such a prolific artist is a difficult one. Today he is considered to be one of the most influential British of all time and continues to excite and inpsire people and artists with his incredible array of pop style art in a multitude of materials. The moved to North America in the 1960's finally settling in LA where he painted some of his iconic earlier work. 






Hockney was always a great admirer of Vincent Van Gogh and more so later in life when he returned to his childhood home in Yorshire where he create massive landscape paintings. Below we will look a video where the artist's talks about his show that in many ways is a hommage to the first great artist of colour Vincent Van Gogh in the words of Hockney. --
