Dracula 1972 - What happens when Dracula meets swinging London in the 1970's? -- Reading and listening\ B1+ - C1 \

 




Each of these lessons are based on a topic such as the METAVERSE, NFTS or more general like the Ted talk on BLUE ZONES or tips for better PRESENTATIONS. 

This is a conversation class based on the material below, an extensive reading from BBC culture and a Youtube trailer from the original movie. 

Objective – discussing the subculture of horror movies and the aesthetics of vampire movies and posters in general.  

Class duration – One-hour sessions \ Number of students – 1 – 3 maximum

The majority of corrections are given in real time during the online class with notes taken and written in the CHAT option in Microsoft teams, google MEET or skype.

I must admit that I am not a great FAN of horror movies and my strongest RECOLLECTIONS of them would be the VIDEO NASTIES from the 1980's that we used to watch on our BETAMAX video recorder. 

Movies like The Evil Dead or the original Halloween, Dracula less so but I do like the aesthetics, the decorative overlays gothic \ baroque although if not done can easily become quite TACKY \ cutre\ .

Derisory \ridicule \ - notices also given to Hammer's previous Dracula movie. Bram Stoker's creation had become anaemic \little energy \by the time AD 1972 was released.
