Bea and myself had a little gypsy wanderings of Europe this year. First we had to go Paris then on to Erolzheim and then back to Madrid . I had to go back to Erolzheim in September to take down the solo show there and prepare the two pallets to return to Madrid.
This was the first time Bea was at this fair , last year it was a smaller fair next door that´s on at the same time. The theme this year was everything Mexican, using the color pallet to fight off the recession. Bea has put a lot of time and energy in the last few years developing the brand and with a new logo and great collections we headed into the abyss.
It´s tough market out there these days and you have to be no only talented but thick skinned and relentless to succeed. It was a hard sell for people at who´s next this year. But still even in this climate Bea made some progress, making new clients in China, Belgium , France and Spain including the exclusive accessory shop at The Museum of Decorative Arts Paris. But really it´s only now as I am writing this that the fruits of her labor are paying off, recently she has taken part in two of the coolest fairs in Madrid both of which were financially successful events for her and also her work has appeared in top fashion magazines.Next year here sister can go though!!
