Since beginning to work at La Tabacalera in February I have attended several meetings.These usually concern mattters of a technical nature such as lighting security and access.
The work spaces are free but each group has a day in which they are responsible for the upkeep of the centre. I am part of nave group working from the sculptural workshop.Looking after the running of such a large space that is accessible to public is a major undertaking.Sometimes it feels as if there are alot of meetings but I do feel that this is important as the centre is still trying to find itself and it's objectives.
It's basic objectives is the availability of free culture in which ever form that may be from sculpture, video contemporary dance or flamenco or skate boarding.
There really is a sense of doing in the centre and occasionally presenting.
