Tonight's the night .... and it's gonna alright (Spoken with a Phil lynnot accent)

So last friday I worked for the first time at La Tabacalera. It really is hard to explain what's going on there.... really because there is just so much, there is something rackless, wild and raw about this place that really is just great.Like one of the lads said to me in there ' Welcome to the jungle '.

I strolled around the caverenous basement through graffitti art, graphic workshops, photography exhibitions over to the skate boarders hall... on the way over I pass by a north African group hanging out banging rums and talking arabic.

It has an electric sense to it all, pure creation as an impulse.Funnily it reminded me of being in eastern euroupe in 1990, where bars and discos would open up almost spontaneously. The atmosphere in east euruope at the time was all embracing, people where not trying to define it but where just experiencing their new found freedom and the nights full of curiosty.

In the main area on friday there was a French rap singer doing his thang and people would pop up every now and then from the crowd and do a bit.
